Baked Sloppy Joe Egg Rolls |
"This is right for my husband's lunches and something my 12-year-antique can consume with out tons hassle. My own family loves those. They are brief and smooth to make for lunches on busy days."
Ingredients :
- cooking spray
- 1 pound floor turkey
- 1 small onion, diced (elective)
- 1 (15 ounce) can sloppy joe sauce
- 1 cup shredded Cheddar cheese (optional)
- 14 egg roll wrappers (including Nasoya®), or as needed
- 1/3 cup olive oil

- Preheat oven to 400 degrees F (200 degrees C). Prepare a baking sheet with cooking spray.
- Heat a large skillet over medium-high heat. Cook and stir turkey and onion inside the hot skillet until turkey is absolutely browned, five to 7 mins.
- Stir sloppy joe sauce into the turkey and onion combination; simmer until slightly thickened, about 5 mins. Remove skillet from warmth and stir Cheddar cheese into the turkey combination till melted.
- Lay an egg roll wrapper onto a flat floor. Spoon approximately 2 tablespoons of the turkey combination down the middle of the wrapper making a line that reaches to within an inch of 2 opposing corners. Fold the close to corners over the filling so the factors overlap the filling. Fold one of the ultimate corners over the filling and roll to form a log. Repeat filling and rolling with ultimate filling and wrappers till all filling is used. Brush olive oil over the rolls to coat and set up onto the prepared baking sheet.
- Bake rolls within the preheated oven until gently browned and crispy, 12 to 15 minutes.
Notes :
- This also can be made with ground red meat.
- These can also be fried in peanut or vegetable oil.
